President Obama and Hillary Clinton met with Shanghai's mayor, Han Zheng, in front of the Kong mural at Xijiao on Nov. 16, 2009.

Serving as the presidential retreat and a meeting facility for the People's Republic of China's government leaders and foreign dignitaries, the Xijiao State Guest House is one of China's most prominent state facilities, equivalent to Camp David in the United States. Located in Shanghai and situated among acres of lavish Chinese gardens, the highly guarded Xijiao State Guest House complex includes a number of villas, banquet halls, and a large, elaborately decorated conference center.
